CENTENNIAL AT TEJON RANCH HAS ADDED ADDITIONAL STEPS DIRECTLY TO ADDRESS CLIMATE CHANGE
Centennial has committed to being an all-electric community. To achieve this, Centennial will include the prohibition of natural gas for residences and commercial tenants and public facilities. Homes, non-residential buildings, schools, and street lighting will all be solar ready.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE ADVANCEMENT
Centennial will install nearly 30,000 EVSE chargers and will substantially increase the number of charging stations in the County that are available for public use. 5,000 EVSE chargers will be installed within the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) area prioritizing Disadvantaged Communities or Disadvantaged Vulnerable Communities. Centennial will also provide incentives to support the purchase of 10,500 electric vehicles, school buses and trucks.
FIRE SAFE
Centennial will be built to last. In addition to creating the most fire-resistant structures, Centennial will have an Emergency Response Plan and Fire Protection Plan approved by local and state public safety agencies at each tract map phase. To support the implementation of the Fire Protection Plan and on-site fire risk mitigation, Centennial will provide $500,000/yr. in annual funding. To address off-site fire risk mitigation a Good Neighbor Fire Protection Fund will be established and funded at $500,000 annually to provide grants to surrounding communities to plan for or implement fire risk reduction activities.
WATER
The Centennial project provides a self-sustaining approach to ensure water resource availability that serves as a model for future projects. Having secured its own water supplies and with a long-term view toward water preservation, which includes two water banks that ensure excess water is saved during rainy years, the Centennial project provides an unprecedented level of review and safeguards that ensures water availability in wet and dry years.
